The terms on which these pages are read
This page states the basis on which the site's figures are offered. It is information, not advice, and the reader decides alone.
Independent desk, no advice
Karat Arithmetic is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, and not a licensed adviser. It holds no client money and accepts no orders. The desk publishes one measurement: the price of gold in Indian rupees, taken from named public sources and republished with the date and the hour it was read. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer. The reader must treat the figures as a record of published prices, not as a forecast or a signal to act.
The desk cannot answer what a particular shop will pay or charge. No published price states what any counter pays. The sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. The editor named on the pages is the person responsible for what the site states. That editor is Rohit Menon, Bullion desk editor. Corrections are the reason the contact address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated.
Information, not advice
The figures on this site are measurements of published sources and carry the limits of those sources. The association publishes these rates before tax; the last column adds the three per cent a buyer pays. These figures are republished with the date and the hour they were read, so a reader can check the same source at the same time. The desk does not add its own estimate or adjust a figure for what a reader might want. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. The reader decides alone and is responsible for their own decision.
Because the site is not an adviser, it does not tell a reader whether to buy, sell, or wait. It does not estimate future prices or the direction of the market. It does not publish any figure it cannot trace to a named public source. The reader is the only person who knows their own needs, their own risk, and their own circumstances. The desk's job is to make the published arithmetic plain, not to act in the reader's place.
The affiliate relationship
The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. The site is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This relationship is stated plainly so that a reader can weigh it. The commission does not change the figures on the site; the figures are taken from the same named public sources whether or not a reader follows the link. The desk chooses the sources for their public record, not for any payment.
The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site. Karat Arithmetic does not see what a reader does on the broker's site, and the broker does not see what a reader read here. The affiliate relationship is the only payment the site receives. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker.
No accounts or tracking
The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter, and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. The site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them. The desk does not collect names, addresses, or any other identifying detail. A reader can read every page without giving any information.
Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the editor. The address is editor@ingottradein.com. Corrections are the reason the address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated. The editor is responsible for what the site states. If a reader finds a figure that does not match its named source, writing to the editor is the way to have it checked. The desk cannot answer questions about what a reader should do, but it can correct a figure it published.
